Q. What is the greatest benefit for children attending St. Mark’s Lutheran?
A.   Each child has an enhanced opportunity to grow in faith, in love for God, and in love for his fellowmen.

Q. What are the benefits of a smaller school?
A.   There is more individual attention, more familiarity between teacher and student over time, and more interaction between grade levels.

Q. How can one teacher handle all eight grades in one classroom?
A.   The teacher is not alone - older children work with the teacher to help the younger ones and volunteer
adults help during the school day.

Q. Can students receive special help if needed?
A.   St. Mark’s enjoys a very good relationship with the local public school district. Through the district, our eligible children are served by the Chapter 1 remedial program, Speech Therapy, and related programs.

Q. Do you offer team sports, band, and hot lunch programs?
A.   Because of the size of our school it is not practical for us to offer these programs at present.  Children are eligible to participate in all extracurricular programs sponsored by Community Education and District #31.
Some restrictions may apply to District programs held during the school day.

Q. Can I expect my children to do well on the standardized achievement tests?
A.   Test scores vary according to God-given ability, but on the average test scores are above the national average

Q. Is transportation available?
A.   All students living within the District #31 boundaries are eligible for free busing both to and from school each day.

Q. What does it cost?
A.   Tuition rates, registration fees, and other fees are available at the school office.
